Mene iskreno plaši da će vjerojatno ameri pola toga izmjeniti iz stripa po svojoj volji .Mislim da im baš nije briga da naprave dosta vjernu ekranizaciju jer nito izvan europe baš i ne čita Dylan Doga.

An article in Screen Daily has a bit more on Dead of Night, which stars Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) as Dylan and is being directed by TMNT helmer Kevin Munroe. Seems the setting is being changed from London to New York, no surprise there, and will follow Dylan as he’s pulled back into the nightmare world when a beautiful woman goes to him saying she saw her father killed by a mysterious creature.

"It was important to create a story that would also be relevant to those who know nothing about Dylan," Munroe told the site. "What has set Dylan Dog apart, and has for long contributed to his success, isn't pure action in a world populated by absurd monsters - the most exciting journey is an emotional one. Dylan Dog is not a superhero, nor is he supernatural. He is a man who finds himself in extraordinary circumstances.”

Indeed, a trip to the big screen is pretty extraordinary for a comic book character who has a very small, but very loyal, following in the U.S. No word on when shooting starts, but expect to hear a lot more about Dead of Night very soon!

I think human consciousness, is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware, nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself, we are creatures that should not exist by natural law.

IESB sat down for an exclusive chat with Dead of Night star Brandon Routh wherein he informed the website that the Kevin Munroe directed adaptation of the comic book may be rolling soon, "I think we are actually going to make it now (laughing). I've never said that before, but I will now; all the paperwork is being finalized finally, and we are looking really strong for a January, mid-January start I believe in New Orleans. And Kevin and I are looking at the script again, and he's got his draft and I am excited about it."

Munroe says there have been some developments.

"We're hopefully going to New Orleans next week to begin location scouting," Munroe tells us. "Filming will hopefully begin at the end of March. The crew is coming together right now. The script is pretty much done and we started going out to the cast last week. It was fun to start sending it out to the people we think would be right for the film. Everyone is responding to it really well. It's nice to know you're not the only one in the room who thinks it's a great project."

Leading man Brandon Routh will star as Dylan Dog, but the Superman Returns actor recently committed to Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Will that create any conflicts? Munroe is confident it won't affect his shooting schedule. "I think everyone is aware of each other. I know Eric Gitter who is the producer on that project and it's not even an overlap. Dead of Night will wrap then [Brandon] will go on to Scott Pilgrim so it's totally fine."

Evo novih odličnih vijesti....
Greg Cannom Joins 'Dead of Night'
Thursday, February 26, 2009

How many of you have seen Cemetery Man, aka Dellamorte Dellamore? If you haven't, you should. And if you have, you'll be happy to know that Dead Of Night, based on the same Dylan Dog comics that were a large inspiration for Dellamorte, has finally begun production in New Orleans. Gilbert Adler (Demon Knight) has come on board to produce. Greg Cannom, who just won an Oscar for Benjamin Button, but is better known to horror fans for his incredible (and also Oscar winning) makeup on 1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula, has also joined the production, which stars Brandon Routh. Read on for a few more details...

Producer Gilbert Adler is sinking his teeth into the horror film "Dead of Night," which starts production today in New Orleans. And DRAC Studios, whose creative director, Greg Cannom, won the makeup Oscar for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," has come on to handle makeup effects.

Hyde Park Group and Platinum Studios are producing the vampire/werewolf/zombie flick that stars Brandon Routh.

Adapted from the top-selling 1986 Italian comic book series "Dylan Dog," created by Tiziano Sclavi, "Dead" stars Routh as a private investigator who stumbles onto the world of the undead. Kevin Munroe ("TMNT") is directing a screenplay by Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly ("Sahara," "Conan the Barbarian"), who moved the action from the U.K. to the deep bayou of Louisiana.

The casting news is rolling out slowly for the Dylan Dog live-action film Dead of Night. Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), as it's been known for some time, is Dylan and, at the start of this month, it was revealed Sam Huntington is playing his sidekick. But let's focus on the supernatural element of the film for a brief moment, shall we?

Actor Taye Diggs is now set to star opposite Routh. The actor, currently seen in Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, will play Night's leader of the vampires. An official confirmation, we're told, is forthcoming. This is Diggs' return to the genre after 1999's The House on Haunted Hill. Since then he has also starred in Equilibrium, with Christian Bale, and Chicago.

Make-up FX for Diggs' bloodsucking turn, as well as Huntington who is a member of the undead himself (in a different sorta way), are being handled by Drac Studios. The film is said to feature a range of beasties, from vampires to zombies to werewolves.

ja mogu odmah reći po slici da će film biti tipično američko komercijalno smeće koje nema veze s stripom.
