Modern adaptation of the classic Mary Shelley story, in which a
scientist obsesses about her controversial but ground breaking work
in stem cell research and biotechnology as she tries to save her dying
son. Maddened by desperation and grief, she takes a sample of his blood
and incorporates it into her research programme. But the cells begin to
grow at an uncontrollable rate, and as they mutate and reform she
realises with dread that the experiment has bred its own bio-organism
which she is no longer in control of.
