The story of a group of young Australian men who leave their various backgrounds behind and sign up to join the ANZACs in World War I. Smješten u prvi svjetski rat na Gallipoli gdje se događala poznata bitka, Battle of the Nek gdje je poginulo stotine australaca samo tako. Jer su išli po naređenju trčati prema turcima samo sa bajonetama. Prvi val, drugi val i treći val. Većinu filma pratimo Gibsonov i još jedan lik kako se sprijateljuju i utrkuju jer su sprinteri koji idu kao volonteri u rat. Tamo svašta prožive. Kraj je jedan od najmoćnijih koji sam vidio
