2004. mladi i talentirani redatelj Edgar Wright se predstavio publici svojim dugometražnim prvijencem, horror komedijom "Shaun of the Dead". Film je doslovno osvojio publiku diljem kugle zemaljske i ubrzo zaradio kultni status. Tri godine kasnije ponovio je uspijeh akcijskom komedijom "Hot Fuzz". Ono što je u oba filma bilo zajedničko (osim redatelja), je bio nerazdvojni glumački dvojac - Simon Pegg i Nick Frost. A upravo se taj dvojac vraća 2011.sa SF komedijom "Paul" za koju su zajedničkim snagama napisali i scenarij. Na žalost, ovaj puta ih neče režirati Edgar Wright, on je naime bio zauzet filmom "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World", pa ga je "zamjenio" Greg Mottola. Inače redatelj filmova "Superbad" i "Adventureland".
Uz već spomenuti dvojac, tu su još i Sigourney Weaver, Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, Jane Lynch i Seth Rogen kao glas izvanzemaljca Paula. Budžet filma iznosi 50 mil$, a Američka premijera filma je predviđena za 18. ožujka 2011. Britanska premijera je još i ranije, točnije 18. veljače 2011.

For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-travelling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

Predvidljiv, pun klišeja, ali zabavan...možda malo previše psovki za moj ukus, pogotovo ako netko gleda s obitelji i klincima, ipak je komedija.
