"The Boondock Saints", stilizirani kirmi triler film iz 1999. godine, unatoč tome što ga je kritika dočekala na nož, slovi danas kao kultni naslov! Ali unatoč tome, još uvijek postoji veliki broj ljudi koji ga nisu gledali, pa čak nisu ni čuli za taj naslov donedavno (uključujući i mene). Bio je to jedan od filmova, kako kažu neki, koji se pojavio pod utjecajem Quentina Tarantina (prije svega njegovog filma "Reservoir Dogs"). Film je režirao i napisao mladi i nepoznati filmaš Troy Duffy kojemu je to tada bio, a i ostao jedini projekt na kojem je radio kao redatelj i scenarist, a glavne uloge su igrali Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, te Willem Dafoe.
I sad, deset godina nakon originala, Duffy je odlučio napisati i režirati nastavak tog kultnog filma, pretpostavljam s nadom da će ponoviti uspijeh originala. Sean Patrick Flanery i Norman Reedus ponovno igraju religioznu braću/osvetnike, a društvo će im praviti Billy Connolly, Clifton Collins Jr., Judd Nelson, Peter Fonda te Julie Benz koja u biti "mjenja" Willem Dafoea. Film je u potpunosti snimljen na lokacijama u kanadi, a kreće u limitirano kino prikazivanje 30. Listopada 2009. godine. A do 2010 (ako ne i ranije) ga vjerojatno možemo očekivati i kod nas, ako ništa drugo, u videotekama...ili najbližem torrentu hehe...

The film is the continuation of writer/director Troy Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of the MacManus brothers (Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery). The two have been in deep hiding with their father, Il Duce (Billy Connolly), in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former vigilante lives. When word comes that a beloved priest has been killed by sinister forces from deep within the mob, the brothers return to Boston to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those responsible. With a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins Jr., Star Trek) and a sexy FBI operative (Julie Benz, TV's “Dexter”) hot on their trail…the Saints are back!

izgleda jako dobro, ali ne vjerujem da će Julie biti bolja od Williama Defoa. :wink: Bitno da i dalje ima akcije i crnog humora.

Evo jedna od recenzija nastavka...i to iznimno pozitivna...

Review: Boondock Saints 2
While I had a terrific time with this latest tale, I did have a couple of qualms about this second chapter. My biggest problem was about two thirds or so in. There is so much going on, that close to the end of the second act, it felt like Mr. Duffy was cramming a little too much in. We’ve got this character who wants revenge, another character who wants the Saints dead, and it sometimes felt like too much. It really would’ve been enough for two different movies, instead of just one. There is so much story packed in that I think the film might have benefited from trimming some of the characters down. But you never know, maybe it might help to see a directors cut and stretch it out a bit, making room for all of these characters and arcs. Either way, I had a blast with All Saints Day. This is a well cast piece of work that is funny, exciting and just a good time all around. Fans of the first film will definitely find much to love this time around.

My rating 8/10

Dvojka je izašla?! Zakon! Vrć sam zaboravio na taj film, prvi dio mi je bio zakon. Već sam si ga stavio na skidanje :D

Ja sam se nadao da će sve biti ok zato što na imdb piše da je release date bio 13.11.2009. Do sad se već trebao pojaviti. Ako slučajno naletiš, javi mi gdje ima za skinuti.

krivo gledas..tada je izasao za razna prikazivanja po festivalima itd..a 09.03. izlazi na DVDe..

pogledao onaj iz 99´
ima par dobrih fora, al u globalu mi je bezveze bio.. pogledao jednom i nikad više.
