I think human consciousness, is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware, nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself, we are creatures that should not exist by natural law.

Here's what Bruce had to say about the never-ending Evil Dead rumors and whether he'd prefer to see a remake of THE EVIL DEAD, EVIL DEAD 4 or FREDDY VS JASON VS ASH.

"In the remake, there's really no part for me," Campbell told Bloody-Disgusting. "Other than being the old guy at the bait shop going 'Hey, be careful of that cabin.' You'd have to get a whole new cast and put them through a whole new set of nightmares.

"The remake could actually be cool philosophically. This is only my personal opinion, [but] I'd go back to handheld 16mm with total unknowns just like the first one. You make the effects a little less [high end]. You could still do some visual effects with digital, but I'd really mess with people and make it a scary theater where you're still trapped again. And I think you can do that all over again because we had no one of any name in the first Evil Dead, so it can be done. I'd go low tech. The desire is always to go bigger.

"In terms of the [sequel], that's all fine. I think Sam and I will do it when schedules line up and if I'm not too old. But he's been so busy with these Spider-Man movies, it's like 'When the hell would we ever do it?' I think the desire is there. We both like the series a lot. It's been really fun creatively and we would probably be very happy to revisit it if and when that ever happens."

"I have talked with my partners about having a young director come in and remake Evil Dead," says Raimi. "That film was made in 16mm on a shoestring budget and blown up to 35mm. The visual effects are crumby, it was done in mono, not even stereo, let alone 5.1. What you could do with it now would be so much better. I think if you had a new director using the full power of 35mm and 5.1 sound, you could really make a pretty socko presentation. It was always meant for the big screen, but never really seen on the big screen"

He also told them that their is still some discussion for Evil Dead 4 and he would like if Bruce Campbell would reprise his role. Frankly I am much more interested in an Evil Dead 4 then a remake of the original mainly for the Bruce Campbell factor.

I ta atmosfera u filmu, šuma, demoni, Cambell, baš poseban ugođaj.

No, sve je stvar ukusa, ljudi smo :)

Je istina je, evo sluzbeni press release:
Sam Raimi and original producing partners Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell (who also starred in the original franchise) are gearing up to remake their cult sensation THE EVIL DEAD through their long standing Ghost House Pictures partnership. Raimi and Tapert were such instant fans of Fede Alvarez’s short film “Panic Attack” that they set up a blind deal with the filmmaker and through that process have attached Fede Alvarez to write and direct the film. Alvarez wrote the script with Rodo Sayagues. Academy Award® winning screenwriter Diablo Cody is currently doing revisions on the draft. Ghost House is committed to renewing the franchise and has the film on the fast track.

Raimi, Tapert and Campbell will serve as producers. Ghost House Pictures partners Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane will executive produce. Nicole Brown and J.R. Young will oversee the project for Ghost House. Lionsgate will handle international sales on the film.

The three producing partners commented, "We are committed to making this movie and are inspired by the enduring popularity and enthusiasm for the ‘Evil Dead’ series. We can't wait to scare a new generation of moviegoers using filmmaking techniques that were not available to us thirty years ago as well as Fede bringing a fresh eye to the film’s original elements."

Raimi wrote, directed and, along with Tapert and Campbell, produced the original horror classic THE EVIL DEAD that tells the story of five twenty-something friends who become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. An archaeologist's tape recording reveals that the ancient text was discovered among the Khandarian ruins of a Sumerian civilization. Playing the taped incantations, the youths unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival. THE EVIL DEAD spawned a franchise with the equally successful installments EVIL DEAD II and ARMY OF DARKNESS.

Fede Alvarez is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content and attorney Karl Austen. Diablo Cody is represented by Sarah Self at WME, Mason Novick, and attorney Jeff Frankel of McKuin Frankel Whitehead LLP.
