No matter - just don't go into DRAG ME TO HELL expecting EVIL DEAD 4, because it's not. But if you go in expecting to be highly entertained by a director who only wants to make you jump out of your seat (and smile at how easily he's manipulated you into flinching like a little girl), you shouldn't walk away disappointed.

Review: Drag Me To Hell
Raimi got the tone just right here, balancing humor (Remember “A Farewell to Arms”?) and horror perfectly. In a land of torture porn and bad Japanese remakes, this is a breath of fresh, um, graveyard scented air. It's got the prerequisite hot chick, it's got a scary-ass villain (with an actual reason for being evil) and, believe it or not, a well-written story. It's got plenty of good scares and plenty of good laughs. It's got a freaking stapler attack. It's even got the Mac guy. (And Justin Long does an excellent job being the straight man, which makes me giggle after his amazing cameo in ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO.) The only thing missing here is a cameo from Bruce Campbell.
