Izgleda da Neil Marshall nije jedini redatelj koji se je ove godine odlučio pozabaviti rimljanima na filmu. Njegovim stopama ide i Kevin Macdonald, redatelj filmova kao što su "The Last King of Scotland" i "State of Play". Ovaj puta je riječ o ekranizaciji romana The Eagle of the Ninth autorice Rosemary Sutcliff, prvog od ukupno 9 romana koje je Rosemary napisala o Rimskim legijama.
Glavne uloge igraju Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, Donald Sutherland i Mark Strong. Budžet filma navodno iznosi oko 15 mil.£, snimljen je na lokacijama u Škotskoj i Mađarskoj, a američka premijera je prediđena za 25. Veljače 2011, dok ga u ostatku svijeta možemo očekivati tijekom Ožujka 2011.
