It was produced by Touchstone Pictures and Polygram Filmed Entertainment released it in the United States. The film's screenplay is based on Donald Westlake's novel "Two Much". Two Much is a remake of a 1984 French comedy film Le Jumeau directed by Yves Robert, also based on Donald Westlake's novel
