Postera i trailera još nema, ali ovome se jako radujem jer Benson i Moorhead opet surađuju. Nkon što su zajedno napravili dobri Spring i Resolution, sad ide ovaj film koji zvuči zbilja dobro.

Iako još nisam našao trailer, film dobiva jako dobre kritike.

A demanding, rewarding picture with moments of unusual terror and awe, offering a science fiction/horror scenario on a literally cosmic scale which boils down to a study of a complicated sibling relationship.

Hiccups aside, though, The Endless rapidly develops from a mysterious, elliptical story about cult survivors and strained relationships into a much larger and stranger movie, essentially the Aliens to Resolution's original Alien.

They say 'fear of the unknown, is the greatest fear there is'. Well, The Endless is that type of film that uses the unknown to their benefit to increase the fear and underlining mystery of the film. Centered on two brother trying to reconnect with their cultist upbringing with a very H.P. Lovecraft inspired context. It's an excellent film that uses it's thought provoking plotting to it's surreal nature of the story and the philosophical nature of the cult members to provide a great sense of drama, conflict and mystery. More of less they say 'minimalism is more' and here it's just about right, filled with terrific writing, acting directing and cinematography, 'The Endless' is a film that should be seen by a large number of audiences to appreciate as one of this year's best. Luckily enough I was able to see it at the Melbourne International Film Festival when I did.

Dodan trailer i poster. Isto tako, promijenio sam film u 2018. godinu. Prikazao se je na tom jednom festivalu prošle godine, ali initial release je ove godine pa ga prebacujem za ovu. Zapišite ovaj film. Izgleda da nam napokon dolaze okultni horori. Mislim, tu ne brojim The Conjurin, Insiidous i slične demonske/supernatural horore već okultni su za mene kada se istražuj to i sve je nekako pod velom tajne. Kao Devil Rides Out ili Wicker Man. Imali smo The Ritual, sad The Endless i nadam se da će nastaviti taj niz jer nismo dugo imali taj punokrvni podžanr. Jako dugo, 70-e su zadnje što su davale puno takvih filmova.

Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson are a writing-and-directing duo who specialize in genre-bending sci-fi(ish) horror films, like their first two features, Spring and Resolution. For their third effort, The Endless, the duo takes on starring duties as well, playing a pair of brothers who fled a doomsday cult they were raised in, but who choose to return to the compound years later after receiving a strange tape from one of the other members. When they get back, the brothers find everyone mysteriously well-aged, and start experiencing a series of phenomena that make them question whether or not the cult teachings were right all along. The Endless premieres on April 6.

The Endless (2018) - najnoviji film od već sad prilčno dobrog redateljskog dua Justin Benson - Aaron Moorhead. Resolution im nisam gledao, ali sam pogledao Spring koji je bio čisto solidni film. U ovom filmu su pod utjecajem Lovecrafta, nekakve alternativne stvarnosti, petlji i svega ostalog. Radi se o dvoje prijatelja koji dobiju neku kazetu i zbog te kazete idu u jedan kult gdje znaju te glavne ljude i tamo im se počnu događati neobjašnjive stvari. Film cijelo vrijeme ima vrlo neugodnu i napetu atmosferu koju baš volim. Jebene scene sa konopcem, na jezeru i onda u šatoru je bila jezovita. Ostatak filma potpuno neloša drama. Cijelo vrijeme je zanimljivo uz prekrasne kadrove dolina što daje dodatni plus toj atmosferi. E sad

taj loop/petlja znači da su oni zaglavljeni tamo i praktički su besmrtni. Ne stare, ali mogu poginut ali se opet odmah vrate. Koliko sam skužio ima njih nekoliko par kao onaj u šatoru, kao onaj što se objesio i ona dvojica u kući koji ne mogu izaći i cijelo vrijeme proživljavaju isto dok na malo veće području je taj kult. Definitivno za više gledanja.

Solidno.. nije horor godine, ali ima svoje trenutke. Odlicna atmosfera, odlicna tematika, losa gluma, malo prerazvucen i ostaje osjecaj nedorecenosti. 5.5/10
