Ovaj američki nezavisni akcijski horor triler je direktni nastavak filma The Hamiltons iz 2006. godine, a dolazi nam od scenarističko-redateljskog dvojca Mitchella Altieria i Phila Floresa aka The Butcher Brothers, a oni su inače redatelji prvog dijela filma The Hamiltons, ali i filma The Violent Kind. U glavnim ulogama nam se vraćaju Cory Knauf, Joseph McKelheer, Mackenzie Firgens i Samuel Child, dok su prinove, Ryan Hartwig (njega ste imali prilike gledati u filmu The Aggression Scale. Naime, on zamjenjuje Nicholas Fanella, u ulozi Dannya Hamiltona), a od ostalih tu su još Daniel O’Meara, (kojeg ste imali prilike gledati u filmovima John Carter, Ironclad, Blood Ranch) i Selina Giles (koju ste pak mogli gledati u filmovima V for Vendetta, Until Death i Restoration). Film je izašao direktno na DVD, a premijera je održana 21. kolovoza 2012. u Nizozemskoj, dok je film u Engleskoj izašao tek 18. listopada 2012. na DVD i Blu-Ray-u.

RADNJA

Bježeći od zakona, vampirska obitelj Hamiltons (sada poznata kao Thompsons) odlazi u Englesku kako bi pronašli drevni vampirsku klan poznat kao Stuarts. No hoće li oni preživjeti put i da li će im oni na kraju pomoći, morat ćete otkriti u filmu

The Thompsons is a movie about pretty teenage vampires. Even though it attempts to distance itself from the ultra popular teenage vampire saga by making a sarcastic reference to Twilight near the beginning of the film, the attempt is unsuccessful. The Thompsons is a more violent film than any entry in the Twilight series, but it's undeniable that plenty of paralells still exist. There's plenty of teen angst and hard bodied love scenes to satisfy most anyone who likes their vampires of the sparkly variety.

The effects are a mixture of practical and digital. The majority of the gore looks like it was done digitally. All of the violent scenes have a very artificial look to them. Nothing takes me out of the moment more quickly than easily being able to spot poorly executed digital imagery. The action sequences are very unrealistic, as well. The fight scenes were poorly put together. Every time we should have seen physical contact, it was obscured or occurred off camera.
