Pa film je prilično važan gledajući slasher žanr. Imao je čast da službeno "ubije" cijelu tu slasher generaciju. Rockoff je u "Going to Pieces: Rise and Fall of Slasher Film" to dobro opisao i sa ovim filmom cijelu tu generaciju filmova.

A tako znači, ma spominjem jer mi nije baš bio nekaj osobito kad sam ga pogledao; iako mi je ona scena na početku s tipom koji se nađe u vodi do broda bila dosta upečatljiva
